External Sales Representative – Free State

About the Role

A leading national fastener and hardware distributor, operating from three distribution centres across South Africa, is looking for an experienced External Sales Representative to be based in Bloemfontein. The role focuses on driving and managing sales across the Free State region, growing the client base and maintaining relationships with retail hardware outlets.

Key Responsibilities

• Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets as set by management
• Visit top 20 customers twice a month and develop a quarterly customer strategy
• Identify and engage new retail hardware stores; open new accounts (target: 100+ clients)
• Ensure in-store merchandising, stand installations and service-level agreements meet company standards
• Conduct two demo days per month in stores
• Generate monthly sales reports, complete proposals and quotations, and submit weekly call planners

Requirements

• Matric (a certificate in Sales and Marketing is advantageous)
• Minimum 5 years’ sales experience in the hardware or FMCG sector
• Valid driver’s licence — must be willing to travel to outlying areas
• Excellent communication skills in English and Afrikaans
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of Skynamo CRM system is advantageous
• Well-organised, self-motivated and able to work under pressure

Remuneration

Market related plus commission.
